Cultural Origin of Subject: British Empire


Constructed in 1907 under the direction of a private committee of English-speaking Montrealers, the Boer War Memorial commemorates a war between the British Empire and South African Boers that was widely unpopular in Quebec due its significance as a British imperial war.
